The Bear is a six story new build mixed use building comprising The Bear Church, café, and community spaces on the ground and first floor, with 33 affordable apartments above.

The scheme is formed of a hot rolled and light gauge steel frame supported by a piled foundation and clad in both traditional brick and aluminium cladding. The scheme embodies both a fabric first and renewable energy solutions to create an efficient mixed use building. The renewable energy is in the form of both solar photovoltaics panels, to provide electricity, and ground source heat pumps to provide heating and hot water.

The apartments are fitted out to a very high standard including bespoke kitchens, aluminium windows and doors, LVT flooring, and access control with sprinkler system throughout.
