Managing Director - Stephen Robinson

Through the 40 years spent in the construction industry Stephen has progressed from quantity surveyor,  to technical manager, head of construction, technical and commercial director, and finally co-owner and managing director of Tek Contracting. 

He’s previously worked for Beazer homes, the Berkley Group, Nixon’s Homes, and The Ashcourt Group. 

Stephen has detailed and extensive knowledge of the following sectors in the construction industry: 

  • residential low rise and high rise 
  • residential affordable and high end 
  • purpose build student accommodation
  • mixed use buildings 
  • hospitals 
  • commercial

Director - Paul Hutchinson

Paul has 20 years of experience in the construction industry and has been involved with light gauge steelwork and structural framing solution since it first came into the united kingdom 20 years ago. 

Paul runs the Tek factory in Middlesbrough which designs, manufactures, and fabricated light gauge structures which from there he coordinates the erecting of the buildings throughout the UK. All under the Tek umbrella. 

Project Director - Matt Tickner

Matt qualified as a structural engineer from Newcastle university in 2008 and from there went on to spend 5 years in design with Northumbria Water. From 2013 he was a project manager with Ashcourt group where he worked on residential, purpose built student accommodation and historic/listed developments. 

Matt has specialist knowledge in the design and construction of high rise and complex developments encompassing the challenges of restricted, brown field and conservation sites from conception to completion. 

Matt joined Tek Contracting in 2022 and is their project director with overall responsibility for the successful delivery of each project from design to completion. 

Contract Manager - Trevor Watson

Trevor started his working career as a time served electrician with 10+ years, working up and down the country on commercial and residential schemes encompassing single and three phase distribution, lighting and power, CCTV, fire detection and security systems.

He has 10 years experience in construction management in a wide range of sectors including residential, education, NHS/ healthcare, retail, and local authority. he has specialist knowledge in the differing forms of construction including timber frame, structural steel, light gauge steel, and traditional brick and block. 

Trevor is Tek Contractings contract manager, in charge of all site based works, ensuring that each project is delivered safely,  within programme to a standard that is benefitting of a leading company in the industry 

Within the team we have worked together on a number of projects across multiple categories including mansion gate, Christophers Meadow, virology ward, Asda, and Kilnwick Percy golf club.
